I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy and my focus is on helping you understand and manage your feelings and relationships. As a therapist, I try to be present, reflective and pedagogical and many people who have been in therapy with me have expressed a higher understanding of themselves and their emotions as a result of our work together.
Reasons for going to psychotherapy can for example be if you are struggling in your relationships or with something that has happened to you. You might also be in a complicated situation that you need help with, or you could be struggling with nightmares or a new life situation, such as parenthood or a chronic illness.
A first session will usually start with you telling me about why you are thinking about starting psychotherapy. I will ask you questions about you and your life so that we can get a better picture of what is happening to you. This will also give us an idea of the things that we might be working on if you decide to initiate a therapeutic process with me.
Most of my work experience is with adults in individual therapy sessions. Besides my education in clinical psychology and psychotherapy, I am also trained in gestalt therapy and art therapy. The theme for my final paper was generational trauma and parenthood. I speak fluent English, Swedish and Spanish.
